Bowl of Fruit

Bowl of Fruit

I sketched this bowl of fruit from a photo reference and used a blend of techniques -- the fruit -- Charles Reid's wet-in-wet, and the bowl -- Reid's wet-in-wet, followed by three washes to darken the bowl. Not as loose as Reid -- not as tight as my normal! LOL

good job on this! I notice you've really got the depth of the fruit in the bowl, what I mean is that you can see there is fruit behind the other fruit. congrats, your hard work is paying off!

Very sensitively observed and painted, Lin. I do hope you'll be 100% very soon, cara!

I like the soft rich colors in this painting. It seems like the colors I see associated with Tuscany.

Lin---I love your fruit bowl....and your bottle of medicine. And your work in general. It looks as though you're having fun with journaling!--Carol

This one is such a good mix of detail and loose -- the detail in the kiwi is superb and the bowl and some of the fruit lend that impressionistic look. Love the colors.
Hugs,

Glad you are feeling better. Love this Lin. The search for looseness is very admirable, but don't lose your individual style on the way. :o)
