Roses and Camellia

I worked a bit yesterday on the roses sketch. I really liked how those came out, so I used PhotoShop to isolate them, delete the flowers I wasn't happy with, and made the finished image into a greeting card.

I also finished another camellia. It amazes me that through the rain, cold, and terrible winds we've had, they are still lingering on the shrub!

I like the softness of these two sketches ...!

These are terrific Lin!!!!! They are soft and undefined in a way that allows the eye to enjoy the flow of the whole piece! AND besides that, the flowers are really such a beautiful subject and they make me feel good to see them!!! Hugs,Patti

These are so soft, loose and just stunning. Anyone receiving your cards will be lucky!

I like these two very much, too--especially, the roses one. You've got their structure perfectly---something I find hard to do! The colors are lovely, too.

The camellia is beautiful, as are the roses with the ears of wheat. Most of our flowers are gone...no cold, just hot and no rain in sight.

Your paintings get better every day!!

The camellia is just lovely Lin -- fantastic job -- all the shadings are just wonderful.
But oh those roses -- they are incredible.
I do think I like your "a bit more structured" paintings more than the real loose ones. Why do you feel you need to loosen up -- it is time?
