This weekend C and I finally visited our local (and very small) farmers market. If there were 6 vendors, there were a lot! However, we came home with several sacks of great, organic veggies, including these purple hulled peas.
We spent 2 hours preparing the veggies, an hour cooking them and 2 hours cleaning up the mess from cooking!
They were good though!! LOL

I never heard of purple-hulled peas but you did a wonderful job of making the look like they have peas in them!!
Great job Lin, i love the color and life in them.
Very good sketch! - I haven't heard of purple-hulled peas, either. But what I d o know is that when you prepare a healthy meal, you d o have to spend at least 1 hour to prepare it. Sad but true! But worth the effort!
And how many minutes spent eating them?! ;) Lovely colourful sketch!
They are my favorite!!! But isn't this early for them? I usually associate them with August. You've done a beautiful job sketching them, cara.
I haven't heard of purple-hulled peas either but I love your drawing of them. :)
We are about to shop up a huge pumpkin to make soup. I know how you felt after that effort of cooking and cleaning up. Are they what i call borlotti beans?
This is a beautiful illustration and I love the handwriting all around it too. I happen to have peas just like that in my garden, they look just like yours!
