This old robe has served me well -- it fits just as I like it, wraps around me so that I feel 'snuggly' and is good and warm. But it has become stained with coffee, paint, and other ephemera -- so much so that it looks like I'm wrapped in rags. But I simply cannot give it up for the brand new one I received at Christmas!

For something that is ugly you certainly made it look pretty...hmmm are those coffee spots>??? I tend to tea spots myself:> Isnt it funny how we love some old comfy things???
I agree with Maggie- the drawing, at least, is lovely.
Oh what a comfy scene -- love how you got the shading the the curves and ripples -- and yes, we all have those favorite things that we wear until they fall apart and we can finally find a new old favorite!

Lorraine
Oh I totally understand, I have one just like it!!!
I have a brand new Elizabeth Emmanuel designer bathrobe under my bed, a gift, that just doesn't feel the same as my cheap towelling dishcloth...well, that's what it resembles.
I have been considering dying mine a dark colour so I can get a few more years out of it without offending anyone further.
Lovely sketch btw!
So, dear Lin, I also ask; where are the coffee stains? The colors in your robe are beautiful! That is just it - we all seek beauty in life and choose to even see it in ugly!Great drawing and enjoy your robe...
