Native Honeysuckle

Native Honeysuckle

The plant sale yesterday went fairly well -- considering that there were HUNDREDS of events going on during the same time; in fact, I was scheduled for THREE different places to be myself!

We were down in visitors and sales overall ... but we'll continue selling plants from the office for droppers-by and then plant the remaining items around the arboretum.

It was a tiring day -- up at 4, back home 14 hours later, a three hour drive, and chatting with guests, giving out plant information, walking between venues for eight hours. The massage therapy students were there -- and yes, my back never felt better!!! LOL Bought some pottery and photography from the art students, and the chorus kept us entertained. Later in the day my husband and his friend took up where the chorus left off, and kept the place lively with music and song.

Temperatures rose to high 70s ... so it was a delightful day!

Today, I have a date to plant a few vegetables, blueberry bushes, herbs and flowers that I just couldn't resist ! Sure wish those massage therapy students were still operating nearby!! LOL

Pretty colours in your sketch - this has a very fresh feel to it. Honeysuckle is a favourite scent from my childhood.

I am not even going to ask how you do it all, the answer might just depress me! You sound like a superwoman? How do you do it all and still find time to post beautiful sketches and not only one every week or so? I love this honeysuckle. I have soft spot for them, and this one's colors are beautiful...

I'm tired just reading about it. Good grief, what vitamins do you take??? And I love the honeysuckle -- although you nearly made me too tired to say so...
:-D

Hey, give me a dose of that energy will you? I tire just reading this post.

It sounds like a lovely day. Nice to have the Honeysuckle sketch as a reminder of the event.

Sounds like a wonderful day - how do you find time to draw? Do you ever sleep? I love the simplicity and 'justesse' of you nature studies.

I can only read in awe, like everyone else! What a fun day, but goodness, I don't know who you keep going! Perhaps you could write an illustrated book of your secrets to vitality!

Oops -that should be how, not who! You keep us all going so that's not the question! :)

This is a beautiful sketch. I just learned about the native honeysuckle to this area yesterday at my kid's botany class. All we have at our house is the yellow, but I'm going to take a stroll back through the woods and look more closely. I know I have wild rose back there....

I love the painting but the day sounds exhausting! How on earth did you fit in the painting!
