From the main conference room where we spent a good amount of time, the window beyond the powerpoint slides gave a fair view of this live oak. The fencing is from the porch area that surrounded the building, and beyond it, one could catch a glimpse of the water in the lagoon. The maritime forest beyond the tree was just coming into its own. Though the magnolias and palms remain green all winter, some of the other trees and shrubs were just leafing out. I could have sat and sketched for days!

Lin, Thank you for rescanning the other two pictures. These are all lovely paintings - that place must have really inspired you!
Oh what a great tree -- twined together like that. I love your "window" view of her! And I had to go look at the other two paintings that you rescanned -- they are even more beautiful now. I'm so glad your week allowed you to continue your painting -- your talent grows by leaps and bounds.
Hugs,
Lorraine
How perfect...a live oak from 'View from the Oak". It is gorgeous!
I know how much you love these trees and wow, you've done a magnificent job with this sketch! I saw lots of live oaks in San Antonio and thought of you.
Lin,
I am glad you are home from the conference and that I peeked in on your drawings too! The tree is BEAUTIFUL! And so it the water scape! Great job hon! <3
Hugs,
Patti
Your oak tree is a beauty and touches my heart, since it is my ultimate favorite tree and reminds me of my home in SA. I can get weepy now...

Lovely painting Lin! I love how you've captured the shade on the trunk.
Oh how gorgeous! I know what you mean about want to just sit and observe and sketch. It's so much fun. I feel sad I haven't been visiting much this week and am just now catching up.
